New Resident Packets
Village of Chatham New Resident Packets

Chatham Area Chamber members have the opportunity to include marketing materials in the Village of Chatham's New Resident Packets.  These packets are distributed to all new residents moving into the community when they sign up for their utilities at the Village office or sign up for their library card at the Chatham Area Public Library.  The packets are the first information new residents receive when they move to Chatham.

The call for items generally goes out twice a year, in September and again in March. Members wishing to participate in this benefit are asked to provide at least 150 items (flyers, brochures, pamphlets, menus, coupons, magnets, pens, etc.) and the chamber staff will do the rest!  There is no cost for chamber members to participate.

For more information about this free member benefit and marketing opportunity, please call 217-483-6450 or email

Each year, the Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to three local graduating seniors.  The students receive a $1,000 scholarship to be applied to the college or university of their choice.  Applications will be judged on a combination of academic achievement, volunteer and/or work experience, and viewpoint regarding the Chatham Chamber and its work. To qualify, high school seniors must:

  • Reside in Sangamon County

  • Be either employed by a Chatham Area Chamber member, or their parent/guardian must be employed by a Chatham Area Chamber member.

The goal of the Chamber Scholarship Program is to promote business within the community.  All applications for the 2024 Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce High School Scholarship must be submitted online by 5 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2024.

For more information about this Chamber member benefit, please call 217-483-6450 or email coordinator@chatham-il-chamber.com.

Village Clean Up Days
Chamber/Jaycees Village Clean Up Days

The Chatham Area Chamber and the Chatham Jaycees sponsor Village Clean-Up Days twice a year (fall and spring).

Volunteers meet at the Pavilion on the Village Square, and are assigned areas of Chatham, and specifically Route 4, to collect trash in an effort to keep our community beautiful.  Even if volunteers can only give an hour of time, it will be time well spent helping friends and neighbors clean up our community and make a difference.

This is a great opportunity for students, scouts, and church groups to earn community project service hours.

Coffee, donuts, and trash bags are provided.

Volunteers are reminded to bring gloves. Please wear bright colored clothing and comfortable shoes.

For more information, please contact the Chamber at coordinator@chatham-il-chamber.com

The awards honor those individuals whose ingenuity, hard work and innovation have created successful and growing business ventures and organizations. The selections are made from nominations gathered from Chamber membership, and each nominated business must submit a formal application to accept the nomination.  Winners are announced at the Chamber's Annual Meeting each August.
